Lisa’s Dance Spot is an award winning dance center known for its multiple National Championship titles on the east coast, entertaining dance recitals, and its fun and friendly atmosphere. Taking part in our classes will allow you to explore the world of dancing and learn moves and dances that are entertaining and will showcase your best. Dance helps you connect with your mind, emotions, and spirit. The practice of dance is an investment in yourself that can reduce stress, improve your mental well-being, and give you an outlet for self-expression. We offer classes for ages 2 and above; from some dance experience to no dance experience; we’ve got a spot for you.
WEEKLY CLASS SCHEDULE
We strive to create a weekly schedule that provides great class options and combinations for our students, while taking into consideration various factors including teacher availability, studio availability, and student/class conflicts.
With the layout of our schedule, we hope you are able to find the classes that interest you and that best fit your personal and family schedule. Our dance season is from August until May and dance classes are subject to change, pending on enrollment.
Dancers will learn movement, coordination, and spatial awareness. They will spend time at the ballet barre and in the center of the room learning the positions of the arms and feet, as well as, leaning basic ballet steps. Tap is a type of dance by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The two styles of dance will be combined into one class.
Hip Hop dance to street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music which include a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping and improvisational dance.
Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dace. Jazz has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain boy parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhtyms.
Beginner class that teaches the basic fundamentals of tumbling. Students will work on basic progression: forward/backward rolls, handstands, caret-wheels and round-offs. Gymnastics 1 must be mastered to move to Gymnastics 2. Gymnastics 2 skills are front/back walkovers, multiple cartwheels, two step entry into roundoff, back handsprings, and front/side ariels.
A style of expressive dance that combines elements of several genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
A combination class combining hip hop choreography with beginner tumbling skills with high energetic dance music.
